The Eyeball Monster brings together Diane’s crochet work and Aleks’ love of creating creatures without rules, structure, or predictable anatomy.

Diane begins the process by crocheting the body, then Aleks adds a face through needle felting. Because the character is a monster, its appearance can follow whatever emerges from Aleks’ imagination. Some versions have been cute and playful, while others have featured large eyes, vertical mouths, and details inspired by eldritch horror.

This freedom allows every monster to develop its own personality. The combination of a soft crocheted body and unusual felted features captures the balance of comfort, humor, and strangeness that defines much of their collaborative work.
