amazon

Partner with cross-functional teams to transform subject matter expertise into engaging learning experiences.

Developing learning at Amazon meant collaborating with teams across multiple disciplines, each bringing their own expertise, priorities, and vision for success. Rather than leading with instructional design principles alone, I began each project by understanding what success looked like for each team and using those goals to shape the learning experience. By building relationships with subject matter experts and aligning course design with their objectives, I created more effective learning solutions while helping teams develop a stronger understanding of instructional design throughout the process.

Strengthen the lobby host training program by integrating experienced coaches into the learning experience.

While supporting Microsoft's lobby host training program, I recognized that the experienced coaches working in each building represented an untapped resource. I invited them to become active partners in the training process, contributing their firsthand knowledge to improve classroom instruction while introducing new hires to the coaches who would later mentor them on the job. Their practical insights strengthened the curriculum, and their early involvement built stronger relationships between the training team, the coaches, and new employees, creating a more connected learning experience that extended well beyond the classroom.

Strengthen relationships by creating knowledge resources that allowed support staff to spend less time searching for answers and more time helping people.

One of the most distinctive aspects of Auto-Owners' Claims Support department was a distinct philosophy: Phone calls before emails. Rather than relying on impersonal email exchanges, we encouraged associates to call us directly, creating stronger relationships and making it easier for people to ask for help without feeling embarrassed by technical challenges. To support that culture, I developed and maintained a living knowledge base of frequently asked questions, troubleshooting guides, policy updates, and step-by-step technical documentation. By making answers easier to find, our team spent less time searching for solutions and more time building trust with the associates we supported.
