Praveena Ramani

Story:

The pandemic profoundly reshaped my life, and in doing so, completely transformed my relationship with creativity. After losing beloved family members and subsequently facing debilitating long COVID symptoms, my world shrank. I needed an anchor and a way to process grief when my physical body felt entirely out of my control.

That was when I turned to creating intricate mandalas and zentangle art. What began as a coping mechanism quickly became a meditative, rhythmic lifeline. The repetitive, structured nature of the ink work forced me into the present moment, offering a profound sense of peace and focus.

Because of this, my creative process remains deeply sacred to me. Every single piece I create today carries a part of that original purpose. It is a tangible reflection of the healing, patience, and mindfulness that brought me back to myself. The pandemic didn't just influence my art; it forced me to discover it as a practice of survival.

Biography:

Praveena is a self-taught artist whose creative practice is driven by the rhythmic, meditative process of hand-drawn patterns. Working from her dedicated home studio, INKspirations By PR, she specializes in intricate mandalas and zentangle art. Her portfolio spans a diverse range of surfaces—moving fluidly from traditional paper to natural wood pieces, blending fine art with functional design.

Her work explores the delicate balance between structured geometry and organic movement, featuring a high-contrast palette of black and white accented by vibrant, layered details with watercolor and acrylics. Deeply inspired by cultural motifs, everyday moments, and the profound beauty of human interconnectedness, Praveena transforms these concepts into detailed, symmetrical designs where every single line is intentional yet intuitive.

Her studio serves as both a sanctuary for creation and a launchpad for mindful living. Guided by a philosophy of leaning into the creative flow, her detailed linework acts as a visual anchor. Each finished piece is crafted not just as decoration, but as a gentle invitation for the viewer to slow down, breathe, and find a sense of quiet tranquility in a bustling world.
