story creates connection
Story gives ideas context, helps people connect emotionally, and transform information into experiences.
3 Years tales from the pandemic
Use personal storytelling to help creators build authentic connections with audiences through a shared moment in history.
At the heart of the 3 Years community is the belief that stories create stronger connections than portfolios alone. Rather than introducing creators through a list of accomplishments, each member shares how the pandemic shaped their creative journey. Because nearly every visitor experienced the pandemic in some way, those personal stories provide an immediate point of connection, helping audiences understand not only what a creator makes, but why they create. That shared understanding establishes a stronger foundation for lasting relationships between creators and their audiences.
My Creative Wander
Apply authentic storytelling as a professional strategy to help creators, clients, and business partners connect with their audiences.
Authentic storytelling is the foundation of My Creative Wander and one of the primary strengths I bring to creative partnerships. Whether I am producing social media content, developing a creator page, or supporting a retail collaboration, I use story to give the work context, reveal what makes the person or business distinctive, and create a stronger reason for audiences to care. This approach has shaped both my marketing strategy and professional reputation, helping clients stand out, strengthening relationships with collaborators, and creating new opportunities for creators and business partners.
auto-owners inSURANCE
Transform claims onboarding into an immersive online academy that gave employees a consistent and engaging path through formal training.
As part of a three-person instructional design team, I helped transform Auto-Owners Insurance’s decentralized claims onboarding into a consistent online learning experience. Previously, new claims adjusters across 26 states were trained locally and could wait up to six months before attending formal instruction at the Home Office, creating gaps in consistency and access to current procedures. We built the program around the story of attending AO University, where learners progressed through virtual classrooms, watched videos, completed activities, and passed an assessment in each room. After completing a final capstone and exam, participants received a certificate, turning required training into a structured academic journey that felt more immersive and memorable.
University of Washington
Use personal storytelling to help prospective students understand the Communication Leadership experience beyond the curriculum.
As a student ambassador for the University of Washington's Communication Leadership Master's Program, I regularly speak with prospective students, current students, and alumni about their academic and professional goals. While program information can answer questions about the curriculum, I have found that sharing my own experiences—from coursework and major projects to balancing graduate school with work and career aspirations—helps prospective students better understand what the program is actually like. Those conversations create a more personal connection and give future students the confidence to make one of the biggest educational decisions of their careers.
